August Meeting: Photographing Newborns with Carmen Chan!

Happy Summer to all you cool Mamas!

Just wanted to post the details for our next meeting: it’s coming up fast on Monday, August 16, 6:30-8:30 at Studio R ! We had another really great weekend Introductory workshop this past Saturday and we’ll surely have some awesome new Mamas joining the ranks at the meeting this month.

Since August is the biggest month for new births, I thought it would be really fun to have a guest speaker to talk about setting up a newborn shoot in your home! So I invited Carmen Chan of Baby Sprouts Photography to address our group. She’ll be talking to the Mamas about how to set up a newborn “studio” in your home, with simple props and photo recipe tips! It should be a blast! If anyone knows someone with a newborn who would like to have them be our “model”, please leave a comment here. I am thinking we should have two models on hand in case one is cranky!

Here is a snippet of Carmen’s Bio: Carmen is the owner and photographer behind Baby Sprouts Photography, a boutique portrait studio in downtown Redmond Washington.  She specializes in maternity, newborn, baby and family photography. Carmen loves colors and she uses simple props and backgrounds to accent her images and to bring out her style in baby photography.

See you all on the 16th- and don’t forget to bring your printed August Photo Assignments – with you!

Happy shooting!
Mary 🙂

  1. I’ve contacted a good friend who is possibly in labor right now. But should have a baby by next Monday, and if she’s up to it, will come. If you need/want her contact, I can give it to you offlist.
