Mark your calendars, Mamas! Our next meeting is coming up on Monday, May 17, 6:30-8:30 at Studio R ! As an added bonus, we are going to have the unique pleasure of holding our meeting while being surrounded by our BEAUTIFUL exhibit, so if any of you mamas missed the show this will be your chance to see it.
Our guest speaker this month is Mary Grace Long, who is a Red Tricycle featured photographer. From her website: “Mary Grace has been photographing people professionally for over twenty years. Her humanistic style is unassuming by definition and her motiviation – rich, soulful, beautifully real, images. Less interested in a person’s packaging (age, gender) so much as capturing a glimpse of spirit, Mary Grace specializes in no one age. She loves photographing centenarians, newborns, and everyone in between.” Mary Grace will be sharing some tips & hands-on techniques about how she captures soulful images of her littlest clients!
Thank you to everyone who brought food, and who helped with set up and clean up at last Friday’s exhibit! It was a huge success! Studio R was packed- I’m not sure if they’ve ever had as much traffic for the Art Walk before, but I am 100% certain that there have never been as many KIDS at Studio R at the same time before last Friday ;-). For me personally, it was a wonderful Mother’s day kickoff to see all of our work hanging together, to see the proud faces of the exhibiting Mamas showing off their wonderful works of art, and to feel the wonderful collective Mama energy that was pouring out of all of the photos. It was everything I hoped it would be and much MORE!
I am attaching some of my pictures that I took at the exhibit- I didn’t get to take many so if any of you who took pictures could add them to our Mamas With Cameras flickr gallery then they will show up on the sidebar here for people to see!

For those that didn’t get a chance to see the exhibit (or whose family members couldn’t make it out), the exhibit will be up through the end of the month, and Studio R is open during regular business hours- Ron mentioned that people are welcome to stop in and see the exhibit!
We will need to have an “exhibit take down” party as well at the end of the month- please leave a comment if you will be able to help out! (And you’ll be able to take your photos home with you!)
See you all next Monday- and don’t forget to bring your printed May photo assignments with you!
